I found the figs and honey to be way too sweet. The dried figs already have so much sugar in them anyway. Maybe it would've been better with just warm honey and no figs. Needless to say this recipe wasn't a keeper for me...not even as a quick appetizer.

Never having cooked with figs, I picked up some fresh green figs when they were on special. I don't know if dried figs would be better or worse, but the fresh green worked very well. The honey, cheese and figs came together beautifully; sweet enough for dessert. However, Giada has a similar plyllo and mozzarella recipe the calls for baking rather than frying. As these, even drained, were a little greasy, I think I'll bake them next time.

Phenomenal taste and a huge hit even though I had to triple it.
