I just made this for lunch, and it was fantastic. I didn't change anything. Just went by the recipe. My boyfriend said that it was the best sandwich he's ever had.

The idea was great, but the light, sweet taste of the croissant doesn't pair well with the strong salami and smoked gouda cheese. I would use a different bread that can stand up to these strong flavors.

i don't have a panini press but my mini george forman grill does a great job! this sandwich was fun and easy to make and very impressive to serve. giada never dissapoints me! i wouldn't say that the flavors knocked me off my feet but they were good enough for me to have made it twice in one week! and using the croissants for the sandwiches is such a great idea. i will certainly play around with the ingredients and come up with a variety of interesting sandwiches good enough to serve company.

Just made these and they were loved by all. Swapped turkey for salami for kids and they gobbled them up. The flavor of the arugula is really nice with the salami. Thanks for a super easy dinner!

While the sandwich itself was tasty, the construction of the croissant was extremely difficult - everything kept falling off, and I didn't even grate the Gouda but rather sliced it. I too added tomatoes (which did not contribute to the falling off problem, and used ham rather than salami but other than that, I stuck to the recipe (I saw her make this as well. I don't have a panini press so used grill pan with cast iron skillet for weight which worked just fine - made the croissant nice and crispy. Will try this again but with a different kind of bread.

Such an easy meal to put together! I enjoyed the Salami and added fresh mushrooms to it, my husband opted for a sliced turkey breast instead of the Salami. It was likes by our young children as well. This is a recipe that is variations friendly! Thank-you!
