Always a hit. The sage butter is what makes this special. Also made this for vegetarians and left out the prociutto, and just used the mozzarella with the sage butter and they disappeared

OUTSTANDING! This quickly became a staple in our dinner recipes. The sage flavor compliments the Mozzarella but does not overpower it.

I was disappointed especially after reading all the reviews. I expected a stronger flavor. I think instead of mozzarella it might be better made with Italian Fontina. Mozzarella has very little taste and it seems to be sucking all the flavor out of the prosciutto. I want to try this again because they are the perfect bite size for a party.

I almost skipped the sage butter because I had no fresh (or dried for that matter in the house but all the reviewers loved it so.. I thought about using a dried poultry spice but decided on basil. WOW! Really, really amazing. I made it last night for New Year's Eve among many other dishes and I really think that was the hit of the party!! SOO very easy- one note my bread didnt toast up nice after 8 min on 375 so i broiled for 1 minute; did that on the final step too, when melting the mozz. Make this recipe, you will not be dissapointed.

These were soooo good! They are so simple with huge flavor. The sage butter makes it and is such a surprise. Great served hot and still really great after they sit a short while. Hearty so better for a lot of people or an appetizer party. Too much if you are having a big dinner afterwards. We ate so many that we skipped dinner!

My family (and I couldn't get over how fabulous this was. The combination of flavors is spectacular - don't leave out the sage butter, as it adds so much depth, and the crispness of the sage itself is fantastic! I think next time, however, if I plan on making a meal for everyone afterwards as I did this past time, I will make it on a skinnier loaf of bread such as a baguette, as no one (including myself could stop eating it, and we were almost too full for dinner!

I was pleasantly surprised at just how delicious (and easy!these were; I had to make extra as everyone had at least 3! I ran out of sage leaves and substituted with the ground, dried sage one can buy in a grocery store (just kept adding a little at a time to the melted butter until it tasted right. Just fabulous and I can't wait to make it for friends, too!
