While the recipe was simple and the artichokes were tasty, very little of the artichoke was actually edible. I'd never had artichokes before, but I wasn't expecting this, so I was a little disappointed.

Take fresh or thawed frozen artichoke heart quaters and dredge in seasoned s&p flour, egg, then panko bread crumbs seasoned with parm-reg cheese, dried italian seasonings and salt. Fry artichoke quarters in hot oil of choice, drain on paper towel and season with salt. Serve with a garlic, lemon, peppercorn aioli garnish the fried artichokes with shaved parm-reg cheese and chopped parsley.
    ENJOY!!!

Being from the South, my family loves pretty much anything fried. These were great. I have a 1yr, 3yr old and 5yr old and they were a hit. Easy to make, and made a great snack.

Was very disappointed in this recipe. The only part anyone would eat was the botton(heart?. The leaves left were too tough and nasty. I think I'll go back to steaming.

I was so so so sad about this one. Well first off I have to say I LOVE love love Giada sooo much, she is absolutely AMAZING and I make countless recipes from her and they are so wonderful. When I saw this one online I was so excited because I am a HUGE artichoke fan... anyway long story short, just don't bother w/ this one! I had to throw the whole thing out. :( I bought beautiful baby artichokes, knew exactly how to prep them and followed everything as directed. The result was disgusting, crispy, BITTER outer leaves...I could go on and on. Anyway but don't let this stop you from making other recipes from her because she is literally AMAZING and everything she usually does is so yummy.

I liked this a lot but the outside, crispy leaves somehow seemed TOO tough. You know? Maybe I just didn't trim off enough outer leaves. But other than that, it was very good. (I didn't think it was that much work to clean the babies but the frying was predictably on the messy side.
