I am an experienced home cook , and entertain quite a bit. Why try to "force" this recipe to work, when there are so many others to try. Cook'Illustrated ~ American test Kitchen has several fabulous ones. There are many on FN. Do a search.
Also, she puts masc. cheese in everything. Its not appropriate in deviled eggs. Look elsewhere..

Although it was difficult to taste the crab, they were a hit this Easter.

I want to try this recipe but after reading the reviews I don't know if I should spend all that money.Does anyone think Old Bay seasoning or hot sauce would help?

I love crab meat. Thought this would be a great recipe. The taste was bland. Tried to doctor it up as suggested by other reviewers but it was still taste less. I was very disappointed. Minnie

I love deviled eggs and thought this would be a nice change of pace. They are fairly bland and the egg and crab do not blend very well together. I love most of her recipes but this is an exception. Nothing is better than the traditional deviled egg.

This is a very elegant concept but the results were quite bland. There is nothing to give the crab a "kick" and egg whites, of course, are bland so it was not an exciting flavor. I may try again but will add some ingredients common to crab such as a little hot sauce or chili sauce, etc. Good lump crab by itself is expensive so I recommend being prepared to make some adjustments to your taste.
