My two favorite things: chocolate and chocolate covered espresso beans. I love the little crunches of espresso beans and the chocolate chewy cookies. So good!!!

I just took these out of the oven! Chocolate-coffee delicious! Make sure you grind the chocolate covered espresso beans well in order to keep them from taking on too much 'coffee' flavor. Mine turned out just perfect, I love the crackle look on the top! So fudgy!

Chocolate and coffee, a winning combination! The depth of chocolate flavor is amazing. This is a keeper for sure!

The cookies were great but you must love "espresso taste" to give these a 5. Ensure you really grind up the espresso beans ( I don't think I did so that might have been why I could really taste the espresso beans rather than them deepening the intensity of the chocolate as they are suppose to. I am going to make them again next week! I made mine smaller and baked them for 12 minutes.

Made these cookies and gave them to friends to try. Wanted to make them for an up coming party. Asked my friends for their opinion and received nothing but raves over these cookies. So I will be making them for the party and for private use. These cookies are GREAT! Thank you Giada, really appreciate this recipe

These cookies are a must try for any chocoholic - a wonderful sweet treat. I love the combination of chocolate and coffee so I had to try this one. I did not have espresso beans so substituted with a tsp of instant coffee powder as one of the reviewers suggested and it was great! I also made them a bit smaller than recommended (they were quite big even though I love chocolate. My cookies did not rise quite as much ( my batter was not quite as thick but the taste was spot on! So next time I will refrigerate the batter for few minutes before I bake the cookies and I will probably make them a bit smaller to make it the perfect bite.

These were amazing. I could not stop eating them. I modified the recipe a little. I added 1/4 tsp of cinnamon to the dry ingredients. I also subsituted the semi sweet chocolate chips, I used Trader's Joes Belguim 74% Dark Chocolate Bar, I chopped up a cups worth of chocolate and made sure they were still chunky morsels. I usually do this with all of my chocolate chip cookie recipes, this is to insure each bite you get chocolate morsels.
This is a sure keeper recipe.
Thanks Giada.

These are very rich and chocolatey. There is lots of chocolate in these babies. They were easy to make and will fill your home with the "baking goodness" scent.

These turned out to be pretty good; just not a favorite. I followed the recipe exactly for the ingredients, but I used a heaping Tbsp of dough rather than a 1/4 cup for each cookie. (I prefer to have a greater number of smaller cookies rather than just a few enormous ones. They were the perfect size. The cookies were chewy/brownie-like and tasty, but very rich and sweet.

fantastic cookies. the only changes i made were adding a little extra salt and using a mini-cookie scoop so it made 24 small cookies. such a crowd pleaser!
