I was excited to try this but I thought and my guests too that it was very bland and no wow flavor. The presentation is beautiful but the lack of flavor was a let down. Needed something.

I have made several of Giada's recipes with great results. Unfortunately, this one was a dud. Easy to prepare, but tasteless and with a strange texture. All six of us agreed it was not good.

I made this for Easter. Everyone said it was "good".
After reading the reviews, I decided to use less orange zest, used about 1 teaspoon, and I could barely taste it, which was just how I wanted it. So that was fine. I suppose you could use lemon zest if you don't like orange...
I did use a few extra leaves of phyllo.
It's not supposed to be very sweet. So it depending on your tastes, you could add a touch more sugar.
It isn't a creamy, smooth texture, but, again, it's not supposed to be.. it's like an Italian cheesecake, and you have to like that type of dessert.. it's a homey "comfort food" dessert, that looks pretty with the phyllo.
Although many at our table don't like this type of dessert, I would definitely make this again.

Made this for Easter dinner to take to an Italian family's invitation. While very easy to make and it looks terrific when compared to a traditional pie crust pie, everyone found the flavor a little flat. Sorry, I'd make it again but add just a little more of something to get the taste buds in action.

We made this for Easter this year and it was really good. It's light, and not too sweet. It wasn't grainy or anything like that. My husband didn't like it, but my son and I did!

Everyone loved this pie last year. I even made it the night before and it stored nicely in the fridge (I did the powdered sugar just before serving. It will become an Easter tradition at my house!

My family is 100% Italian and this was the first time I attempted to make the traditional ricotta pie for Palm Sunday dinner.
It was excellent! A very easy recipe to follow. The phyllo dough instead of traditional pastry pie crust was a great addition! The family loved it!
Will make again for sure!

Beautiful presentation,I sprikled powdered sugar on top when cold.
I think I would use a little less buttering the next time. I left out the Pine Nits and subsitituted chocolate bits instead. This recipe reminded me very much of a Greek pie. Some members of my family liked it others did not.
Looking foward of making it again I loved it.

Light and delicious. A dessert that you enjoy more with each bite instead of getting an explosion of flavor and then having enough. Everyone will enjoy this one!
