My husband hates seafood...I wouldn't say hate, but I have to give him atleast a 24 hour notice before I serve salmon or shrimp (that is all he will eat. So I decided to make this recipe and not tell him about the anchovies as everything that I have heard and read says all you taste of the anchovies is the saltiness, no flavor. I am hear to tell you that you taste fish. My husband ate one bite and then threw it away.

I served this to my mother-in-law and husband for dinner, and it was a hit! Since it was so simple to make, AND pretty healthy, I was very glad that it was so well received. Any opportunity to get some veggies into my husband is good, and once he added some sriacha to his pasta, he was happy as a clam.

So so good. I followed it to a tee. I wouldn't change a thing. I should have doubled the recipe. Between me and my daugther my husband will get non.

A perfect light meal . Easy and quick. As the previous reviews mention - do not skip the anchovies and using a high grade extra virgin olive oil is a must. I also added some toasted pine nuts for a nice crunch.
This will become one of my go-to recipes when I don't feel like spening much time in the kitchen.

Such a great recipe! and extremely easy for a quick midweek dinner. Definitely don't skip the anchovies, they add great flavor. Couldn't imagine the dish without them. Even my very picky two-year old gobbled it all up!

Do not skip on any of the ingredients, especially the anchovies! If you cut them small enough they actually disappear once you toss the pasta with the broccoli and oil. To cut down on time, buy a bag of fresh broccoli florets which come pre-washed. A definite keeper.

Wonderful flavor profiles... do not skip any of the ingredients. I cooked if for my dad who begged not to add the anchovies, but low and behold he loved it! Don't be scared of them, it really does add a wonderful depth. I used a bag of frozen broccoli florets to save time; worked perfect. Surprisingly easy to make!

This recipe is so very perfect for every occasion!
But I'm reading how so many reviewers are leaving out the anchovies...You really should follow the recipe to the letter.
I do not like spicy hot food and was leery of the pepper flakes, but they didn't bother me at all. And the anchovies blended so well, I never tasted a pronounced flavor of anchovies.
Giada knows what she's doing...trust this recipe and every ingredient in it!
It's perfectly wonderful!!

So I forgot to save pasta water, but not sure how much that affected. I burned the garlic a bit, trying to do too many things at once. I left out the anchovies. I halved the recipe, that would have been too much pasta for me alone to eat. I decided to add 1 tsp of pepper flakes, but I never knew sauteing it in oil, would add so much heat.
All in all it was simple to make, and it would waste, so that's a good thing. And I'll probably make again.
