Sorry Giada. I'll take packaged box mix over this recipe. To much lemon and way to oily. It ended up in the garbage disposal.

Was skeptical about the lemon but used half of what the recipe called for. Did not like it. Did not thicken well. Nutmeg was a nice flavor though.

I usually love Giada's recipes....but not this one. I thought the lemon made the cream taste sour....I even checked the date on my heavy cream! It is good for two more weeks so that wasn't it. Looking at other recipes, I don't see any that use lemon. This is the only bad experience I have had with Giada.

Would NEVER make this again. Too lemony and very thin. Would not call this alfredo at all.

loved it!!! let me tell you, you MUST, let me repeat you MUST use fresh pasta or else it will not be as awesome, or the flavors can not with stand dried pasta, but it was delicious, and very very fast and easy it takes you about 10 min or less to make the whole thing, but depending on home much lemon you like in there do not put all of it in at one time, put half then go from there and add more if needed, but i loved it.

Outstanding recipe, for the most part did it just as the recipe was except for cutting back to a 1/4 cup of Lemon Juice. Next time will probably try it with a 1/3 cup to see how it is. Also added some of the pasta water prior to draining the pasta and added that to the cream sauce to thin it just a bit this way it doesn't get to thick. Otherwise was perfect. Everyone loved it.

This is undoubtedly my favorite Alfredo recipe!!! I would give it TEN stars, if I could.
I have made it for friends and family and the result is always the same: nothing short of rapture. All the flavors are well-balanced and the lemon gives it a refreshing, light quality that I've not experienced previously or subsequently. It is CRIMINAL to even think of opening a jar of Alfredo sauce (unless Giada, herself, made it after having experienced this fresh, homemade version.
Yum, yum, yum!
Giada, you rock!

I live in Italy and I just made this dish for my fiance's Italian family and they liked it but I wouldn't say they loved it...however I loved it! I took advice from other reviewers before I made this dish and I halved the lemon juice and used 4 T. less butter. I thought the lemon flavor (1/4 c. was perfect, however next time I will be adding a hefty amount of salt for more flavor. I did add a whole garlic clove when I was making the sauce to add to the taste, and took it out before mixing the pasta in.

It was ok, but way too much lemon.
