I thought the cookies are really good. I made them last night. I do a lot of baking, so I thought they were not very hard to make. They were time consuming though.
The dough part of the cookie stayed nice and firm they did not get soggy. Sometimes filled cookies become soggy, these are not. That is very nice. The figs are nice and moist.
I also really liked the flavor. I have never had a cookie like these.

Not a real fig lover but I remember a cookie similar to this one but it had prunes, so I decided to try it.

It was fantastic. I fancied them up with a sprinkling of icing sugar.

Loved this cookie! I had a hard time putting in enough filling to satisfy my family with the "fold over" instruction. Instead, I put the filling in the middle of one round, placed another round on top and sealed them by pressing a fork around. Egg wash made them nice and tight.

I modified the recipe by cutting down the honey to two tablespoons and that seemed to give the right amount of that flavor without making it too sweet. Next batch I will make with limoncello instead of the orange juice.

These were terrible! I couldn't get anyone to take more than one bite...ended up feeding them to the dogs. I am on a low carb diet, so I substituted ground beef for the figs. Next time...chocolate chip cookies for me!

This recipe is really good, and the flavors are amazing! I ended up with more filling too. It reminds me of what my grandma used to make, but I couldn't make out some of her recipes as they were all in Greek. Thanks, Giada...you saved the day! Now I can make it on my own!

Love these cookies, they look beautiful and are easy to make. I did double the dough and still had plenty of filling for another batch of cookies. If you are a Fig Newton lover...these cookies will become a favorite. I also dusted the cookies with some powdered sugar.
