I rarely cook steaks and we are not a big meat eaters, but this sounded so good I wanted to give it a go. It turned out wonderfully and our dinner guests loved the steak. A couple things I wish I had done better would be to give myself more time in doing the reduction Balsamic syrup. It wasn't quite reduced enough when my steaks were ready. The cooking time on the steaks were perfect for a medium/rare and I paired them with Ina's wild mushroom risotto and asparagus with a light mustard sauce. Definitely a win win recipe...

Delicious. I let my sauce reduce a little too much... it had the consistency of thick caramel... but the flavor was still amazing and pairs REALLY well with the goat cheese! The cooking times she gives are perfect for medium rare. This was so easy to make with little mess. Will definitely make again.

I followed this recipe pretty closely and loved it. It was pretty easy too. The goat cheese really makes it!

WOW! Just made this for the second time in the past two weeks. This is one of the easiest and most delicious dishes I have ever made. The success of this truly lies in a QUALITY piece of meat, which costs a pretty penny but is well worth it. I have tried once with the goat cheese on top and once with crumbled blue cheese on top - both were unbelievable. You must try this!

This was absolutely delicious! I use recipes from food network all the time, but have only rated a few. Believe me, this one was a real keeper. For anyone who needs to use splenda instead of sugar, go for it, it still works! I'd say give the sauce as much time as you need to make it render. I'd say I let mine cook for about 30 minutes then turned it off and warmed it up for about 3 minutes b/4 serving. It was like syrup and awesome! Tasted as good as any fabulous Chicago steak restaurant.
