My wife absolutely LOVES this recipe! I made ait again, just last night and it was a hit as usual. I will say that the kind of wine you use DOES matter. Make sure it is a DRY red. If you go too sweet, it will not turn out as well. Trust me on this. Follw the recipe and you'l really enjoy it!

I'm a vegetarian and have been for the past 15 + years so I don't cook meat, however, I recently got married and my hub is a carnivore so I decided to invite the family over and cook this for 6 people. He grilled the meat and I made the sauce and everyone loved it. " All the flavors worked well with the fillet," they said. As far as the hub, well, he had 3 fillets and he said, "wow, very delicious, simple to make yet full of flavor and an elegant dish as well."
Although, I must admit I did add it a pinch of sugar to the wine sauce.....I'd def recommend this recipe to everyone!

We just did this for a special dinner, and it was great. Grilled the Filet on the BBQ, added Gorgonzola cheese on top of the sauce and served with Red wine. All the flavors together were very complimentary. I would definitely recommend this recipe to a friend.

My husband made this for me on Valentines Day and it was a hit! The red wine was perfect; and the garlic and butter just made the meat roll off of our tongues! Trying this recipe is a must!

I make this recipe frequently and it is one of my favorites. I just wanted to add that it freezes very well. I put the leftovers in a ice cube tray, freeze and then put them into a plastic bag. I always have individual portions when I need them.

My sweetheart made this for me the other night. I'm not a huge fan of red wine sauce, but this was very good! I recommend this recipe.

I made the sauce to go with my beef wellington and it was perfect! I did add some extra spices to it at the end and made sure to use a robust dry red wine and it was so good!!!!!!

I LOVED this sauce. I was satisfying a craving when searching for a red wine sauce recipe and this recipe definitely satisfied me. However, I reduced the sauce a lot longer than 10 minutes - at 10 minutes I found it to be pure wine still. It was more like 20, until the alcohol taste was gone and the flavors of everything really came together. But when it did...IT WAS DELICIOUS!

I thought the sauce was ok. I love Giada's recipes; however, I wasn't too impressed with this one. The sauce overpowered the steak.

I made this for my wife and i and she is not a big meat fan. She said this is one of the best sauces and made the meat amazing and I loved it also!
