    Filets were great, sauce wasn't. Flavor of sauce was extremely acidic and was not worth all of the time and effort of making it. Next time we'll just skip the sauce.

    My absolute *favorite* meal in the world is filet mignon w/ red wine sauce. No matter where we are, if it's on a menu my husband and I both order it. We've tried many times to make it at home but the sauces never taste as good as they do in restaurants. I tried this recpie of Giada's last weekend and we were both blown away!!! If you're going to make filet mignon (or any steak at home, it would be a waste not to have this sauce to go with it. Prep time was definitely more than 10 minutes for me but it was worth every second. Thanks, Giada, for another fabulous recipe!

    I used the recipe for the sauce when I had some friends over for dinner and they all loved it. It was my first time ever making my own sauce for anything from scratch.
