I did not make the flat iron steak, but the red wine sauce was spectacular when paired with a fillet mignon, charcrusted with garlic and peppercorn rub...

This sauce was so luxurious and complimented the steak really well. It's so simple to make but the flavor has a nice complexity to it. This is one of our household faves!

Loved the sauce. My husband is from Belgium and they love their sauces on meat. It does need the salt and pepper seasoning once the sauce is done. It's so easy to make and tastes like you spent a long time on it. It was yummy with the roasted cauliflower also!

Amazing! Loved the sauce. You must adjust the salt and pepper while you cook the sauce. If not it will be a little bland. My wife's only complaint was that I didn't make enough sauce to save so we can have it again this week.

OMG, this recipe was exquisite! The only thing I changed was the wine, I used marsala instead of dry red as that's what I had open. The flavor was a perfect compliment to the beef. Other reviews said it was too bland but I wonder if they missed the recipe instructions to add salt after sauteing the onions, then season with S&P at the end. I did not use all of the butter (don't need the extra calories and it was still delicious. You can easily make the sauce in advance and heat it up after the steak is grilled.

Certainly not her Tuscan Chicken. Cook the meat after making the sauce. Alot of work for a sauce which was unique, colorful and lacking for real substance. Not a very good receipe and not worth the time

Yum! This recipe was my first adventure with flat iron steak and everything turned out great. I did take the recommendation to cook the sauce longer (doubled the time and it was so delicious. What a great dinner!

Fantastic dish after a few minor adjustments. I substituted the red wine with sweet marsala wine and sauteed some white mushrooms then removed before mixing in the tomato paste to give it a bolder flavor. We had a huge spread but the steak with red wine sauce seemed to be the dish that was getting the most attention. It was so good my mom (who cooked most of the food and cousins took the tri-tip home and didn't leave me left overs. = ( At least I can cook it at home, when I am in the mood.

This whole dish surprised me. I didn't realize how flavorful the flat iron steak was and the sauce was such a compliment to it. Great job and thanks
