I've never had any luck cooking broccoli rabe--always comes out too bitter for me-- so I made this with leftovers in my refrigerator which were chicken, mushrooms and fresh spinach. Great sauce for using leftovers and I think it could be made using just the vegetables.

I changed up the recipe with a few cloves of minced garlic, used broccoli instead of rabe, mushrooms, parmesan cheese, no lemon juice. add chopped sundried tomatoes for a kick too!

This lacks flavor. I expect more kick from Italian dishes.

Made this again last night. It's one of our family's favorites. Love the freshness of the lemon!

My family and I really liked it, but I made a few changes. I read previous reviews that said the lemon taste was overwhelming, and others that said it was bland. So, I only used the juice of half a lemon, instead of 1/4 cup of lemon juice. I also added about a teaspoon of red pepper flakes, which was perfect, because the dish wasn't too hot, but there was a definite heat left in your mouth after a bite. I could not find broccoli rabe, so as other reviewers said, I just used the crowns of broccoli. I added a chicken boullion cube to the chicken broth (I know, a HUGE cheat, to add a little more body. And I left the pine nuts out, because my husband and I both dislike the flavor. I found that I didn't need to add any of the pasta water, as it was already saucy enough. I know it sounds like I made a completely different dish, but the changes were minor, and the dish was great!

I love this recipe. It is very easy to make. I usually use one of the store made rotisserie chickens. I also add fresh cracked pepper. I don't think this meal is bland at all.

This is a healthy dish but it doesn't have much flavor. It is really boring and difficult to eat because it is so bland.

Great is all I can say and lowfat too boot. You really don't need alot of fat to make a super pasta.

Excellent balance of flavors! Please do try it with the broccoli rabe...regular broccoli although very fine is not at all the same. I did add the red pepper flakes, mostly because we like it in similar dishes. Fresh lemon juice, toasted pine nuts, and good freshly grated parmesan really enhance the chicken/pasta/broc rab base. Short cuts will short out the flavor.
