I've made these twice... So very yummy...however the potatoes fell apart both times. But I will try again, smaller potatoes (I used red potatoes, pretty small but probably not "baby" and maybe some fingerlings. Great flavor, just not so pretty.

I’ve wanted to make this recipe for a while and finally did. I used assorted fingerlings. The potatoes were a hit, with everyone going back for seconds. Based on reading all the reviews, I decided to cut back on the lemons by eliminating the lemon zest and kept the dressing on the side. My son thought the potatoes tasted pretty similar to home fries I make. For my home fries, I partially cook potatoes in water until 3/4 done. I then cut them into chunks. I saute chopped onion; set them aside and then saute the partially cooked potatoes in the oil until crisp on the edges, similar to Giada's smashed potatoes. I then combine the cooked, crisped potatoes with the sauteed onions. A sprinkle of salt and pepper finishes it off. A winner for Giada's smashed potatoes and for the home fries.

Loved this recipe, kinda time consuming with the boiling of the potatoes and then letting them cool and then frying them but I loved the lemony flavor of them, very refreshing!! I would definatly make it again!! It would be wonderful over summer time!

This is one of our new go to side dishes. Mine never end up looking quite as good as Giada's but the flavor is still amazing.
