Although my husband found it to be way too rich I thought it was delicious, but like most found it extremely difficult to serve & eat. Thank goodness my dinner guests were good friends. All I can say is that when no one is watching just pick it up with your hands & eat it like an ice cream sandwich. Unless Giada does a revision I doubt I will make it again.

This seems like such a rich dessert, so I'm sure just having a small amount can go a long way. I LOVE dulce de leche ice cream so I will definitely be making, although most likely without the strawberry syrup, just because I want to really get that chocolate and caramel flavor. I was also thinking this could be done in the summer with a strawberry cake bottom, key lime ice cream in the center, and a crusty lemon bar-ish topping. LOVE Giada and her show.

This desert tasted amazing, but it was hard as a rock! I would give it 5 stars for taste, but this would be impossible to serve to anyone and/or eat cleanly in front of people. Luckily, I only made this for my bf and myself, so I was ok with stabbing a chunk of it with a fork and knawing on it, but you could never serve this to company or at a party. I even added extra cream to the top which did soften that up a bit, but the brownie was like a rock. If I make this again I will make a smaller amount of brownie (more like a thick crust and double the ice cream. I would definately advise against making this for company, unless they're below the age of 12!!

This dessert was delicious !!! It had my favorite things: chocolate, caramel, and strawberry all in one! As others have said the brownie was a rock by the end but other than that it is one of my favorite desserts! Try it! Its all worth the freeze time.

This was yummy, but I agree, the top was too hard. Less chocolate chips in the topping would work better. And next time I would use more ice cream, because that layer seemed too thin. Also, I drizzled mine with caramel sauce rather than fruit. What the heck. You could use this recipe with many different combos of ice cream flavors and add-ins for the brownies.

I have to say my husband and I were really disappointed in this one. We love all the ingredients but together this was just too "over the top".If I ever made it again I would cut the chocolate chips and heath bars in half for the batter, add a little more ice cream and cut the amount of chips in the topping way down. The top was too thick and hard to cut. I was really disappointed as I had made this for a preview to be served at a family dinner. And the ingredients weren't cheap. will be serving something else.
