This is an INCREDIBLY bland recipe as written. You have to do something, be it more pepper flakes or whatever, to give it any flavor but I would definitely not make the recipe as-is and in fact I have no intention of making it again in general.

I was really excited about this recipe and pretty disappointed after I fixed it. It didn't have any flavor, even after I added more red pepper flakes and parmesan. The arugula just added a bitter wilted flavor instead of a peppery addition. I wish I had just made linguine with clam sauce instead and used the arugula for a nice salad.

This was quite easy and very good! Perfect for a summer night pasta! I did add the lemon juice that others suggested and topped it with grated parm cheese. My daughter suggested adding fresh tomatoes and toasted pine nuts just before that final toss. I'll have to try that next time. I also added a little extra crushed red pepper as we like things a little spicy. This is a keeper! Thanks, Giada!

My family loved this recipe! Especially my 2 year old- She is a Giada fan when it comes to anything "noodle." I modified the recipe by using a spinach/arugula blend, sea salt, and lemon juice...Delicious and Easy!

I love this recipe! We use spinach instead of arugula. I also add extra olive oil & some lemon zest. I guess I combine this recipe with her shrimp & arugula with lemon oil. Yum! My 4 year old loves this.

I usually get annoyed when reviewers rate a recipe and then give all the changes they made to the original, but this time I confess I did some improvising too. For some reason my grocery store didn't have any arugula today, so I used baby spinach instead. Also, being from the mid-Atlantic, I added just a tiny bit of Old Bay seasoning, and also dusted each serving with it. I know Old Bay isn't Italian, but it kicked the dish up a notch.
