Way too much garlic. I think I will stick with Sunny Anderson's cheesy popovers.

This is basically a 'Yorkshire Pudding' in England! I cut this recipe in half to make some popovers to go with a roast dinner for myself & my husband. I used a small cupcake tin & made 6 small popovers - they came out perfectly. I also had around half of the batter leftover, which will make another 6 popovers, so this recipe goes a long way. I didn't make the butter part of the recipe...

These were pretty good, although I didn't care for the anchovy butter. Next time I would just make the popovers.

I'm not giving up on this recipe yet! I hope the second time around yields a better popover though. I changed up the recipe by seperating the eggs and making a meringue out of the egg whites first then folding that in with the rest of the ingredients. What happened was flat heavy muffins! Exactly opposite of what I was going for. I will try the recipe one more time and stick to the recipe as is. Hope yours turn out better than mine did :(

Just took these out of the oven, let them cool slightly, and slathered them in the butter. To die for! I made 48 mini- popovers (baked about l6 mins. I'm not a fan of anchovies but this butter is not overkill with anchovy taste, just a wonderful complement to all the other wonderful flavors. I will definately be making these again.......

Does anybody have any suggestions for anchovy paste substitutions? Neither my husband nor I like anchovies and I wasn't sure if they would have enough flavor if I simply omitted the paste.

These were so easy to make. When I saw 5 cloves of garlic, I knew they would be good! They made my house smell divine!! I didn't make the butter either. I used 12 muffin cups and poured the rest into a mini muffin tins (I actually like the little popovers better. The only thing I would change is add just a little less salt. They seem a bit salty to me, but maybe it's the garlic! Soooo yummy, I highly recommend!

These popovers are to die for. I didn't even make the butter. I used chives in place of parsley in the popovers and a blend of asiago/parmesan/romano cheese. Delicious!

These popovers are very good. I didn't make the butter, and substituted the cheeses with parmesan and cheddar but they were still very very good.

I don't know if I just have an inordinately small muffin tin - but I ended up with double the popovers. The first pan I greased before I started making the popovers, but the second pan I had to grease at the last minute. Interestingly, the first rose much more. Also, they were done at around 27 minutes or so. Delicious, though. Very garlicky.
