Made this for my family and they loved it. I did brine the chicken for 2-3 hours prior in a brine specific for high temperature roasting (had a reduced amount of sugar in it then followed the recipe exactly. The chicken came out quite moist and flavorful. The citrus gives this chicken such a nice, fresh flavor. Had to be careful with the skin burning -- definitely had to watch it and reduce the temperature once I started basting with oj mixture. Will definitely make this one again -- one of the best roast chickens I have had.

Not only was this easy to make, it was also EXTREMELY delicious. The meat was moist and juicy and flavorful. Watching Giada make it on TV was little preparation for how truly wonderful this recipe turned out.

This chicken was the best ever! It was so moist and flavorful. I don't usually like citrus flavor so was a little hesitant but it didn't have much of a citrus flavor and tasted amazing! It was really easy to make, I didn't change a thing. Once I based the chicken with the orange juice mixture it browned really quickly, but don't be afraid, it wont burn. I used a 5.5 lb chicken, I had to squeeze everything in and it was a tight fit but it all ended up fitting in. I did cut up the lemon and orange in smaller pieces to help fit everything in. I paired the chicken with salad, and mixed veggies to say the least my boyfriend and his roomate loved it! All in all I suggest this recipe to everyone and I will for sure be making this again.

I was channel surfing and saw a TV show called "Everyday Italian", having been to University in Perugia Italy I thought it was an Italian language show due to the title so I quickly hit record and went to work. When I came home I decided to look and see what this show was about...........it was a cooking show, I don't watch cooking shows! I only cook Italian however......so, I made this chicken today with the oranges, lemons and garlic. There has NEVER BEEN a more moist chicken, OH MY GOD, it was good. I kept it covered for the first 45 minutes and I am glad I did, it browns really quickly (too quickly when you baste it with the orange juice mixture. This was delicious and think of all the calories you save without having stuffing! I will make this for guests in future and use about half of the lemon juice the recipe calls for and maybe more orange juice. It was a bit tart but I am not a lemon lover. This is a win win.........!!!

This Chicken taste Very Good. I cooked this yesterday afternoon (11-10. The only adjustment i made was that i Brined my almost 8lb Chicken Roaster with water, kosher salt, and sugar for 24 hours, i wanted to make sure that the "Inside" of the chicken taste as good as the outside. At 400 degrees, their was "No Way" i was going to position my rack in the center of the oven, so, i placed the rack at the bottom since my heat is at the top. I had no problem placing all of the ingredients inside the Cavity of the chicken like some of the reviews that i've read. And the only thing that i did not have was fresh oregano, so i used 2 teaspoons of dried oregano for the juice mixture, which was just as good. This dish is a keeper, you're the best Giada.

Very moist and tasty though I thought it would have more citrus flavor. Definitely a keeper.

This recipe is one of my favorites. I make this dish about two times a month & each time it tastes bettter. It is so easy to make & so delicious. My family & friends ask me where I got the recipe from every time I make it. I got it from Giada's Everyday Italian Cook Book, which I use as a Bible for recipes. The book is phenominal. I've tried every recipe in it & each one comes out perfect every time.
Giada knows exactly what ingredients to put together in exactly the right amounts to make each dish taste like a feast for your tastebuds.
This chicken recipe is a fool proof winner for beginner cooks as well as savvy chefs.
Giada is my guru in the kitchen!!!

This is the best recipe ever. Loved the garlic, citrus flavors. The house smelled sooo good while cooking. I started checking the chicken 90 minutes as I wanted to make sure it wasn't over cooking. It was perfect. Will make again for sure.

I made this for my family and a few guests. It was the moistest and tastiest roast chicken I've ever had. Everyone agreed and I will be making it again.
