I made this about a year ago, but never wrote a review. I saw that they aired this episode again, and wanted to stop everyone from making this recipe! While it was easy to make, the end result was terrible! I tried it for Thanksgiving dinner. I know testing a new recipe on guests is a no-no, but I trust Giada and decided to make my family and friends taste testers... boy do I regret it! I couldn't eat it. My family was so sweet, they ate it, but I can't imagine they enjoyed it (they were so nice to not hurt my fellings though. I also made the sweet potato gnocci from this episode and advise don't do it! I love Giada and Everyday Italian, but this episode should not be rerun!

Having made many of her recipes I was very surprised by just how poor this one turned out. Inspired by watching the episode I tried it soon thereafter. Using exactly the same ingredients and in the manner presented I prepared the recipe and tried it last night. The four tasters all agreed that there was no sweetness from the sun dried tomatoes, a strange bitter taste to the muffin and an unpleasant garlic aftertaste on the finish of it. I re-examined all the ingredients for possible faults and determined that it was not any of the fresh ingredients or the sun dried tomatoes. Having made many other muffins with garlic in other combinations I can only conclude that the Jiffy Mix was the source of the bitterness and its interaction with the garlic for the poor garlic aftertaste.

Giada...these are TERRIBLE! The garlic way overpowers them and does not go well with the sundried tomatos or the corn flavor. We could NOT eat them! The cake part was very moist - so I could see using the wet ingredients again...and possibly the corn - although probably only about 1/2. The rest - forget it! We feed it all to our dogs. And they loved it....but we did not!
Disappointed but still love ya!

They came out perfect !! TASTY !!! They did fall apart easily but that's because of the whole kennel corn. Need to use only small cloves of garlic and mince very finely people.

Made these at Thanksgiving for something a little different and everyone went nuts. Fantastic twist on plain old corn muffins. We even liked the few that were left at breakfast the next morning.

I was mading a double batch for a large get together and after reading some reviews, decided to cut the garlic in half, and it was STILL way too much garlic. And I love garlic.
I made another batch. Sauteed the garlic (1/3 the amount this time and added cooked and crumbled bacon. NOW THAT WAS KILLER.

I gave this recipe 4 stars because I did not add the sun dried tomatoes. I made this for the office thanksgiving party and everyone LOVED it. I made two separate muffins for me and my sister to try the night before and she went nuts for it. I am making it again for Christmas.
Thanksgiving was the first time I ever made it and I was afraid of what it would be like but it was AWESOME!

I made this for thanksgiving for the first time and everyone love them. they were moist and not too sweet. The best thing was chewy sun dried tomatoes and corn and beautiful garlic aroma.
I wil make them every thinksgiving, there were definitely hit of the night.
One thing that I want to try different is using sun dried tomatoes in oil instead of using dried ones.

I love Giada and have had many winners, but this was not it. Bland and tasteless are the only two words I can think of to describe these. My partner and I both looked at each other and said, "Well, it sounded good on the show." Her Spicy Corn Bread is similar and 30x better than these muffins. Sorry Giada!

I make corn bread with various ingredients all the time (even with Ro-Tel so we don't mind things spicy. But these were so bad that no one ate even ONE of them on Thanksgiving. The garlic was overpowering and it tasted raw. Sun dried tomatoes are a good idea for sweetness. I don't recommend this recipe at all. In fact, I would probably NEVER add garlic to corn bread again.
