I can't cook at all but this is a dish that I tried and it turned out great. Easy for any guy trying to impress a date. Thanks for the recipe.

This was so yummy! Took other reviewers advice and used only about 1/2 stick of butter and it was perfect! It would have been WAY to much butter to use one and a half sticks! But if you reduce the butter it is really really good, even my 2 year old, the pickiest eater in the world loved it! Another bonus is it seriously took like 10 minutes to make. I'll definitely be making this again.

Way too much butter and I added a lot of sugar just so I can make the texture with the sweetness more appealing. Don't think I'll make this again. It sounded good.

My husband and I really enjoyed the Gnocci's. After reading the comments I decided to cut back on the butter --- I used 3/4 of a stick and thought they were delicious. A different twist on Gnocci's --- I will definitely make again. GREAT RECIPE!!!

The first time that I made this dish, I used 3/4 stick of butter instead of the 1 and 1/2 sticks of butter that this recipe called for. Even though I halved the amount of butter, the gnocchi still DROWNED in it... Yuck! To avoid clogging my boyfriend and I's arteries, I served this dish with toothpicks so that most of the butter would run off. The gnocchi turned out tasting pretty good, but having to deal with draining the excess cholesterol was quite a pain.

The second time that I made this dish, I used only 1/3 stick of butter for 1/2 a package of gnocchi. It was perfect!! The gnocchi tasted like cinnamon buns... Delicious!!!

As some of you may have guessed, I gave this recipe 4 stars instead of 5 because the original recipe calls for way too much butter. Drastically reduce the amount of butter in this dish and you will have a 5 star recipe! Thanks Giada!!

I was hesitant to make this recipe because of all the negative comments about how rich it was, but I usually use less butter than indicated in recipes such as this and only used one stick of butter instead of the stick and a half. Next time I make it, I think it would work with just 1/2 to 3/4 of a stick because there was still a lot of butter sauce leftover. I made this for a little gathering with friends which was somewhat like a potluck and I served the gnocchi with a box of toothpicks next to them. Everyone and I mean EVERYONE raved about them, even the picky eaters and the ones who had never had gnocchi before. I don't like things overly sweet, but after tasting the gnocchi when I was cooking, I decided to add about 1 1/2 more tbsp. of sugar which I think was the perfect balance of sweet and savory. Serving them as an hors d'oeuvres works very well, because they are extremely rich and delicious. This is definitely not a dish that someone should expect to eat and "American portion" of pasta, but I would think that would be common sense knowing how much butter was added!

WAY TOO MUCH BUTTER! Not only could I feel my arteries clogging with each (of the three bites I took, but the the texture V. sweet taste combo was off as well. I didn't feel the need to subject my husband to it--I considered that an early b-day gift. Sorry Giada.

If you don't like store-bought gnocchi (I really don't, then try making homemade sweet potato gnocchi with this sauce. They are so cute and fancy; I'm making those along with spinach lasagna roll-ups for an office potluck next week. The sweet potato makes them special, and they are a lot less doughy...more potatoey...vegetabl-ey...you know? I don't think you're allowed to post links here, but just google sweet potato gnocchi and serve them with this sauce with some fresh chopped sage or parsely and a cinammon stick to garnish. Sooo pretty and good!!

I've never had gnocchi before, so this was a simple recipe to try it with. I only had about 10 of the little dumplings, and I felt fine. They were doughy, but that's just the gnocchi, the cinnamon butter sauce was great. I felt sick the rest of the day and even the next morning. All because of the gnocchi. So this rating is based on the fact that I don't like gnocchi, not the rest of the recipe. That was fine.
