Grapefruit is as healthy as tomatoes, has a longer shelf life and is one of the healthiest foods you can eat. We are working on products with longer shelf lifes and this fruit is one of the best. Unfortunately some stores are holding it way longer than they would ever hold tomatoes...

    Yum...and thanks so much!

I dont normally eat things like this but I made it for a dinner party I was having and took a risk of not trying it before I served it. It was a big hit!! The flavord dance in your mouth and I wanted more and more... I will pass this on to everyone I know!

..until the first bite. All the flavours work together to create a tastey, eye appealing salad. One thing I would recommend - make sure you have a fresh, ruby red or pink grapefruit - make sure it hasn't been sitting around the grocery store forever. That is the only complaint about the salad I made...the grapefruit that was available was just a plain yellow flesh and it was oooold lol. Try it...you won't be disappointed :-

I figured this one would either be really good or really awful. It was better than really good! This is one that you can adjust for two or for company and be proud and happy either way. It will definitely be a "go to" salad for me.

This is one of the best grapefruit salads I have ever had! I have already made it four times with raving reviews. This summer we will be having it at least twice a week. The flavors all just seem to fit together nicely. My son brought home some really red, sweet grapefruit from a vacation and I thought I would fall into the plate and just die! The only change I made is to omit the black olives as none of us care for them. I would give it a Ten Star review if possible! Another great recipe from Giada!

The only change was that I added some mint with the basil for the herbs. I made this salad 3 nights in a row. A great change from boring

I liked this salad very much. The only thing I did differently was to add feta cheese on top. I just thought it gave it a nice punch. The only drawback (though this is a biggie is that it is VERY hard to eat. The grapefruit seeds were a pain (even thought I tried to get them all out at first and the grapefruit "walls" were really annoying to maneuver. If I do this salad again I will just seperate the grapefruit sections and make more of a bowl salad. All the flavors worked very nice together.

I actually did not expect to like this. I had received grapefruit from Harry and David and had extra, so I decided to try it. To my surprise, I found this to be a wonderful combination of seemingly disparate ingredients. Ingredients really matter in this dish, so it's important to use fresh, flavorful grapefruit, onions and olives. But it is critically important, however, to use a really good balsamic vinegar, because it is the vinegar that pulls these odd flavors together and sort of makes sense of this salad. This is a very pretty salad and it is a wonderful palate-cleansing course.

I am so excited about this recipe! Fabulous! My seven year old daughter loved it! And my husband, who doesn't like grapefruit, enjoyed it as well. I feel bad for the reviewer who served it to company and they turned their noses up. I think you just have to know who is willing to try new things, because this is definitely a new combination to most of us. But anyone willing to try it will surely enjoy it. I do think that sectioning the grapefruit is a good idea. Getting all the membranes off makes it much less bitter (and much more yummy!.
