This was pretty flavorful. But it seemed like a lot of oil, it really made the grill flare up a lot. And, I can't imagine cooking bone-in chicken for 16 minutes. It would still be raw! I cooked it for about 45 and it was still a little under done, we had to nuke it for a few seconds. I wonder, should I leave the grill open so I can watch for flare ups and use the water bottle to tame them?

thank you for a great recipe to add to our menu. I only had time to marinate the chicken about 15 minutes but it still came out very tender and flavorful. my family loved it. a great way to use the basil in my yard that only gets used a few leaves here and there. I will have to plant more basil now that I have a good use for it.
I will definately make this for friends.

I have made this recipe many times, and every time I do I get the most wonderful reviews. Everyone I have made this for can't get enough. The chicken, they couldn't believe how good it was...nice and tender. Then with the basil dressing on top...this isn't your average bbq meal. I paired this with her lemon spaghetti, again, delicious! Giada you have done it again :

We loved the marinade!!!! BUT, when I made the sauce to specs, it was way too salty! We ended up tossing out the sauce and just having the grilled chicken. If I were making this again, I would make it with 1/4 tsp in the sauce and go up from there based on sauce.

Oh my gosh. This was SO SO GOOD. The marinade before it went in with the chicken was delicious. The basil sauce is delicious - I even licked the lid of my mini chopper! I copied the idea of angel hair pasta and carrots, and it was a fantastic combo. Plus, I'm pregnant and haven't liked meat, chicken in particular, but this was sooo good! That says a lot! Mmmm mmmm mmmm mmmm mmmm!

it was simple to make and delicious! The chicken was good by itself (without the dressing and it was just as good with the dressing.

This recipe was quick, easy and delicious! I used boneless skinless chicken thighs and they were moist and tender. The basil dressing was a good use for my bumper crop of basil. I will make this again for company.

I saw Giada do this on tv yesterday and thought, "that looks like it would be good", so I decided to try it. I had some boneless skinless chicken thighs in the freezer so I defrosted them, marinated them as directed, and my husband grilled them according to Giada's directions. Meanwhile I made the sauce and cooked some angel hair pasta to make a bed for the chicken. A side of steamed carrots rounded out the meal. DON"T omit the FENNEL!!!! It is a surprising but awesome addition to the recipe.
This is not "good" but JUST DELICIOUS and is definitely a keeper and would make a good casual entertaining dish for the summer. The visual was also very nice with the pasta, grilled chicken, green basil sauce and the vibrant orange carrots.

Can't wait to try this, this coming weekend. I am just learning how to grill the right way, without burning everything. Your grilling tips and this Basil sauce caught my taste buds, and my brither and I are going to try it this week-end. Thank you it sounds wonderful. Mary K.
