I love all o Giada's recipes. I think she's great. But I was so looking forward to making these, and they were sooooo hard to do. I could not get the right consistancy. Either to stiff or too loose. They have been sitting for about 24 hrs., and still are too soft to handle. If anyone knows what the key is to making these, I sure would appreciate an answer. I must be doing something wrong. Thank you.

LOVED these. My sister in law asks me to make them all the time, and they are perfect for different holidays! I am making them for Christmas with green and red food coloring.

For taste I'd give this 5 stars but had to give it 3 due to ease of the recipe. I followed the recipe exactly and it didn't have the correct consitency AT ALL! I even watched the show again to see if I was missing something. It was very messy and extremely frustrating to keep having to add sugar---especially when it looked so easy on the show. I must have at least doubled the amount of sugar the recipe called for. That said, they were a big hit at the party. It made me feel better that even though they were super messy and a pain to make, people really liked them. I dyed mine pink (for my daughter's birthday party and I plan to make them again and dye them red or green for a Christmas party this weekend. If you can get the recipe down, they make a great party dessert and I love that you can dye them to match any color scheme.

I can not believe that more people have not tried and rated this EASY treat.... YUMMO... I made these for a bday party around Halloween after watching the show... She made it look so easy and it really was... It was humid here in CT to I had to adjust the amount of powdered sugar but that was no big deal.... They do take longer to set up then I thought, again it depends on the weather.... These were the hit of the party and I had to use facebook to make sure everyone at the party got the recipe, that day !!!! Make them and you will love them..... PS - try them frozen !!!!!! Oh yeah....

Very tasty and easy. I tweeked the recipe by using two fresh egg whites and piping the patties. They dried in 24 hours and were extra special. It's the first mint recipe I've ever had that turned out! Here's my question: How long can they be safe to eat without refrigeration? I thought they'd make nifty Christmas treats. Thanks Lee

I think they are going to be very good and easy to make. I do however have a question. My mints looked good, I let them set for 3 hours and a little over. When I got back to them to dip in the chocolate they were not very firm and it was hard to coat them because they were trying to fall apart. What did I do wrong? Please advise as I really want to use this recipe for the holidays. Thanks.

omg--just didn't realize how long it would take until they set--the grandkids loved em and that's all that counts. they attacked before the chocolate was set and didn't leave a crumb for the adults.

I made one batch orange, but they weren't minty enough at all. You have to triple the amount of peppermint extract to be able to taste the mint. Most of them squidged/crumbled apart when I tried to dip them in the melted chocolate, despite me leaving them 4 hours to dry out beforehand. I also made two more batches in green & purple for a halloween party - people weren't keen, only about 4 got eaten & I found lots of 'tried' ones thrown away - not a crowd-pleaser. It's quite messy to make them too; I won't make these again.

These were good. Easy but a bit messy to make and be sure to leave yourself the whole 6hrs to let them set. They were a big hit at the halloween party and you could use them for really any holiday with any color. Thanks, A&A Deppen
