This pie was superb! Super moist and flavoral. I will definitly be making this again but istead of as a pie as a brownie in a sqare pan. Delicious!

Loved the hazelnut flavor in this! I didn't skin the hazelnuts as they came pre-chopped, but that didn't bother me. I also messed up and inverted the flour/sugar, so I used 3/4 c. flour and caught it in time to put in the right amount of sugar. Next time I'll go with the less flour and it'll be less cakey. But agree with a previous poster, needs a tsp. of salt (all baking should have some salt and could even use a little espresso powder. I also used dark chocolate instead of semi-sweet chips. Extremely easy pie, though, especially if you get everything ready beforehand, but I love to bake so the different steps from your typical brownie recipe weren't that difficult. Loved that everything was done in the food processor. And if you wanted to, you could dress up the whipped cream with some bourbon or spiced rum. Or peppermint schnapps. The variations are almost endless.

But I must have done something wrong b/c the pie didn't set in the middle. It was runny... But the flavor and the delicious whipped cream trumped the gooeyness! I'll try it again in the middle rack instead.

I made this yesterday and my husband and sister LOVED it. They said it tastes like something a restaurant would serve. Don't skip the whip cream, it adds a lot to the pie. I used a cup of sugar, 3/4 cup of hazelnuts, 4 medium eggs, and it turned out great!

I made this the other night and received rave reviews from my friends. I found hazelnuts in the nuts section of the grocery store. They were already skinned and blanched, so i just toasted them at home for a few minutes. This recipe is very easy - I do not have a food processor but my blender worked just fine! The cake with the cream comes out looking very classy. This recipe is definitely a good go to recipe for a quick dinner party!

This was so yummy. As Giada would say, "A party in your mouth." I had to give some away to my neighbors -- for brownie points and to stop myself from eating more!!! I found the hazelnuts in the produce section at my grocery store. Wasn't sure how to skin and toast them, so I heated them over medium heat and after a few minutes most of the skins loosened and I peeled them off. The vanilla cream was great too! I think I overwhipped it, but it still tasted great. My neighbor said it tasted like a desert from a really nice restaurant. Thanks so much Giada :

hmmmm . . I wonder how this would taste using Nutella in place of the chocolate!

It was very easy to make and delicious. The only thing is that I still can't find hazelnuts. Where can I find them? I used almonds when I made it instead.

I watched this episode on tv. I could've sworn she used cocoa powder in the recipe, am I crazy?

I made this for friends and we all loved it. It is not really a brownie consistency-- more like a cross between chocolate mousse and a brownie. I followed the resipe exactly, except the hazelnuts I had bought were rancid so I used walnuts. Delicious and next time I will try it with hazelnuts. It would also be good with pecans. Decadent, for a special treat.
