These cookies exceeded my expectations. I gave them as Christmas gifts to several people, and they all raved about them. I used a food processor to chop the toffee candy bars, and I think it was a little too fine. Next time I will try using larger pieces of the candy.

Made these with pecans instead of hazelnuts. Liked them but will try hazelnuts next time. Loved the addition of the ground oats - gives an excellent flavour without becoming an oatmeal cookie. Found that 325 was too low and adjusted to 375 for about 14 minutes. These are going to be a standard for our family!

It's my husband and my 6-month wedding anniversary. He is a cookie-aholic, so I decided to bake these as a treat (to go along with another "Everyday Italian" recipe for the main course. I have an allergy to hazelnuts, so used a mixture of walnuts and pecans. We like our cookies fat and chewy. After reading some of the other reviews, I decided to add more oatmeal and flour. I sprayed no-stick on my cookie sheets and had no problems! The cookies are fabulous. Grazie molte!

... but man I kept thinking "if the dough is this good, how good are the cookies going to be when they're baked?" They were phenominal! Not sure if it's the toffee bits or the ground oats but this recipe is a total keeper and I will not share it with my friends! Hahaha!

These cookies thinned out a lot..and as a result, lost some of the chewiness and richness. I would recommend putting all the mix-ins (hazelnuts, choc. chips, etc. into a different cookie batter--one that is more chewier and rich. Otherwise, the taste was good. I rolled mine into the size of golf balls and there ended up being 36 cookies--a lot! Overall, I might make this recipe again!

I have made these 2 times & everyone that I gave them to immediately asked for the recipe. They have a great sweet taste, but in the midst of that, you get a slight taste of the salt from the toffee candy. These are my new favorite cookies. I couldn't find hazelnuts, so I used toasted walnuts - this turned out great.

Giada has a superior item here. This cookie is easy, and very tasty. I think this has replaced my all-time favorite of Nestle Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookies, most definately has!! Thanks Giada.

this recipe turned out very nicely. I'll admit that I did not use butter, but used butter-flavored CRISCO as a substitute and I think this helps keep the cookies from getting too thin. I accidently bought hazelnuts with the skins on them and removing them was somewhat annoying. Look for hazelnuts with skins already removed.
