My favorites, so good! I made a double batch and froze the extra. I didn't put as much hazelnut in because I over toasted 1/2 of them. They were still so good. Wound up having to cook the extra dough and give them away because it was too dangerous to keep in the freezer. I toasted the hazelnuts in the oven, next time I'll so it stove top to keep a closer eye. I'll refrain from pulverizing the oats per other reviews to see how that affects the cookies.
Regardless, everyone loved these cookies. I will absolutely be making these again! I basically rode Giada's coat tails this xmas with these, lemon ricotta cookies, peppermint wheels and chocolate chunk pine nut cookies.
Thank you Giada!!

I wasn't crazy about these. Although I really liked the combination of hazelnuts and chocolate chips and the overall flavor was good, I didn't care for the texture - too crispy. Just personal preference.

These cookies are awesome! I have never rated a recipe before but for this one? I just HAD to register and comment. Amazing, I will be making thiem over and over. Followed everthing to a tee, but cooked for about 16 minutes. I'm telling you, if you like cookies, you will LOVE these!

I loved these cookies. I thought 2 cups of sugar was a lot and so was 2 sticks of butter, but these were delicious! My husband brought most of them to work to share, and he said they raved about them. I didn't want to spend $6.00 on a 1/2 cup of hazelnuts, so I substituted pecans, and they were so yummy!!! Definitely a do-again cookie!

I've made these twice already, and plan on making more as Christmas gifts because everyone loves them so much. Some friends even asked to pay me to bake these for them. Great combo of flavors!!!

Try these... you won't be dissapointed. I used walnuts instead if hazelnuts and they were still great.

I have tried a few recipes by Giada in the past. This was my first dessert recipe. I am making the cookies as a thank you gift for someone and decided to make my batter in advance and bake a few off just to see how they would turn out.
The cookies were DELICIOUS! I personally love toffee bits and hazelnuts so this was perfect for me. I could easily see changing out the types of nuts you use or perhaps even the chocolate. I had originally wanted to put in Lindt Chili Chocolate for the chocolate pieces but decided to play it safe for this time around. I brought the cookies in to work and everyone LOVED THEM.
Someone here mentioned finding that the toffee made the cookies gooey but I didnt' experience this. I have had that happen to me before but I believe it happened because I had too many in. I followed the recipe ingredients exactly though and I didn't experience this occuring.
I would definitely make this recipe again.
