I made this for a Sunday brunch with the ladies. . it has a HUGE hit! I substituted walnuts for the hazelnuts, cream cheese for the mascarpone, and regular milk for the buttermilk. . still came out AWESOME!
I prepped this the day before, let the rolls rise, and then refrigerated overnight. Some of the rolls didn't puff up as much . .i think it was because i rolled the dough out too thin and maybe "played" with the dough too much. . .despite that, they were delicious!! Would definitely make this again!! BRAVO Giada!

I couldn't find frozen bread dough at any of our local supermarkets. If only I knew which substitutions will work for this recipe. Please respond ASAP

This is a simple and delicious recipe. I did use walnuts instead of hazelnuts in the buns, and substituted cream cheese for the mascarpone in the icing. My 5 year old helped and was quite proud of his accomplishment.

I do not love hazelnuts so I made mine with pecans. Delicious!!! Better than Cinnabun.

This was the first time I have ever attempted to make anything like this and they turned out great! I wouldn't change anything in the recipe?I was especially pleased with how the icing turned out!

Great recipe - easy to follow. I made these the night before and refrigerated them after I'd let them rise for the recommended 45 min. and they turned out great. I made 1.5 times the amount of filling as recommended by another review and used cream cheese instead of mascarpone cheese and walnuts instead of hazelnuts. I wasn't thrilled with the icing and would make one without cheese next time. They also reheat very well - I found that I actually liked them more the 2nd time around!

The frozen bread dough is the real winner here. Thaw in fridge overnight, set on counter 15min before rolling and add the fixings. Very good. I think next time will stick with the traditional conf.sugar icing vs. marscapone, couldn't really tell that big a difference so will save the $ for ingredient. The whole family devoured these.

I like making cinnamon rolls, and these are my favorite. The hazelnuts and Mascarapone bring out such sweet with slight tang flavor that is excellent.
