I left the hazelnuts out and they were still wonderful. I have made them several times. Everyone loves.
    Thanks Giada!

I've made these twice. They are delicious and so easy to make. The mascarpone cheese on top is rich and creamy without being too sweet. I might make a little more of the brown sugar filling to add next time. If your thinking about making these, you won't be disappointed.

I made this for brunch with some close friends..there were not any leftovers...so yummy. The frozen bread dough makes this recipe quick and really easy. Loved the Hazelnuts instead of tradiotional walnuts

Does anyone know (or has anyone tried making a portion of this recipe in advance? I am hosting a Christmas brunch and would like to make these the evening before and then just be able to pop them in the oven on Christmas morning. Will that work?

These are soooo good! I used my own sweet bread dough recipe instead of frozen bread dough and we had them uniced, since we don't as a rule keep mascarpone cheese on hand but if I ever have any left over from a dessert recipe, I will indeed try these with the icing. I also like that they make a quantity suitable for a small family like ours. For sure these won't get stale!
