This recipe was excellent! My husband and I enjoyed every last bite. The only thing I changed was doubling the green beans. Great for a rainy day.

Loved this the first time I made it and so did my husband. This is the type of meal I enjoy.

I did not have sausage on hand, so I tried making it with beef and turkey. While everything tasted good, it was a little bland. I assume this is because I subbed the turkey in place of sausage. My fiance and I just weren't crazy about it. Even if it had been spicier, it just didn't fit my idea of "comfort foods" as it was billed. Still love your cooking and that smile Giada!

I am not a stew lover - but had confidence that if there was a stew I was going to like - it would be Giada's :O The whole family loved it!! Easy to prepare. Definitely a keeper! When asked what I am making for supper - I just say "it's a Giada thing"...enough said :O

Made this last night, after seeing the show over the weekend. Wow! My husband & I loved this! I did a few substitutions- didn't have sausage, so used a ground beef/turkey mix instead for the meatballs. I also doubled the green beans and added some carrots (things I had in my fridge. We really enjoyed this and will definitely make it again!!!

This was perfect for my family. I have made this several different ways. One of the ways of which is my favorite is... with carrots, two cans of chopped chillie. Instead of the tomatoes I used two cans of beef consommé & 1/2 carton beet broth.
    Served over creamed potatoes!!!!
    The best gravy ever!!!
Thank you for all the inspiration.

We made this stew and loved it. Too far to run to grocery so we used frozen and canned ingredients. I can't imagine it being any better with fresh stuff.
