I saw this today and it was all I could think about. I love tomato soup and I thought it was good with the beans which add a nice bit of thickness and protein. I like the spice, the pepper flakes are what I imagine will warm me up this winter. The creme fraiche, was good, I never tried it before and it complimented the soup well.

I just made Giada's soup this evening and it was a big hit! I can't believe my 7 year old ate it all up. I did cut the red pepper flakes down by half after reading the other reviews. I will absolutely make this soup again! Thank you Giada :

This was a great soup, but it was a little spicy for me. The next time I may tone done the red pepper flakes. They literally burned my mouth, but the soup was great.

My husband and I loved this soup. It's much more filling than usual tomato soup, thanks to the beans and carrots. Also, since, my husband doesn't like lemon, I omitted it, and used low-fat sour cream to garnish - tasted great!

Sometimes I worry about making Giada's recipes because the ingredients just seem too simple to pack enough flavor. After purchasing her cookbook I have realized that is her trick! This soup is so simple and elegant and the rosemary creates such a great flavor. I added extra red pepper flakes for an extra kick, clearly a preference, but it was great! Definitely try!!!

Giada makes it look so easy. This show aired yesterday (5/8/09, and I decided to try the recipe ASAP, it looked like it would be simple, I had most of the ingredients on hand (if chick peas are the same as cannellini. Had to use old dry rosemary, substituted sour cream for creme fraiche. Used a little less than half a teaspoon of crushed red peppers.
It was effortless to make, and it was delicious. I used the immersion blender but left it a little chunky. It was delicious, very satisfying. I will probably keep one can/box of tomato soup as a standby in the pantry in the wintertime -- you know when you get the sniffles in the wintertime you need tomato soup, if you don't feel well you may not feel like chopping even a little onion and carrot. But from now on when I want tomato soup, this will be my go-to.

This is one of the VERY FEW Giada recipes that I will not make a second time. The soup itself was very ordinary and lacked complexity. Bites that had enough of the creme fraiche (which was delicious in them were good, but if you put creme fraiche on anything, what's not to like?
