This was an amazing dish! I made it as a side dish for a BBQ we had. It tastes so light and fresh. The herb and lemon aromas are wonderful in this dish! I ate it feeling guilt free : I did add a little bit of feta crumbles on top of the dish for some contrasting color and it was very tasty with it. Thanks Giada!

Delicious! It turned out amazing. This was my very first time cooking quinoa! I used dry herbs and used less lemon as well. I did not have to drain it at ALL. It was perfect! Love love love!!!

Delicious, but with modifications. As about 200 people said, decrease the amount of lemon juice. I made do with dried spices, though I know it would have been better with fresh.

    KEY COOKING TIPS:
After adding stock/quinoa, simmer with the lid on for 15 minutes. Don't look, don't touch, walk away. After that take it off the heat, leave the lid on, and walk away-let it sit 10 minutes. NOW DRAIN IT! Drain it all! There'll probably be extra liquid (I do 1.5ish part liquid-1 part quinoa and there's still excess liquid, and it'll make the whole dish gloppy and unpleasant in my experience if you don't drain it.

I added the dressing after that, and it was absolutely fantastic. I might be on my 3rd helping as I type.

There's a great recipe somewhere in there, but this isn't it. I just wasted a beautiful, expensive box of quinoa on this. FAR too much lemon juice and something is off with the liquid/quinoa ratio. It was sloppy and far too tart. Lots of puckered faces at the dinner table.

Here's my advice: Cook the quinoa in stock according to the package directions. Use the 1/4 C. of lemon juice EITHER in the dressing OR with the quinoa while it cooks; not both. You can always add more lemon juice to the finished dish. Cut the lemon zest to 1 tsp. and cut down on the basil as much as you like.

Next time only half the lemon juice. Maybe add some dried cranberries to balance the lemon.

After reading the reviews, I decided to use half the lemon juice when cooking (making up the rest with chicken stock and did the same in the dressing. Came out perfectly and my picky friend commented it's "the best quinoa she's ever had." It's the perfect healthy and flavorful side dish. I even eat it as the main course for lunch sometimes. Great dish for someone who is busy and wants to make a bunch at once to use all week. Love!!

I have been searching for a quinoa recipe I loved and this is it! Other reviewers said it was too lemony but not to me. It was perfect!

I have no idea what I did wrong but the liquid in the quinoa never cooked down, and the quinoa looked more like oatmeal than anything else. I wound up throwing it out and then substituting couscous at the last minute. I'm sure it was me and not the recipe but man, did I have to shuffle fast. I used the rest of the ingredients in the couscous and added quartered cherry tomatoes. The taste was tremendous.

I ABSOLUTELY love this recipe. I stumbled upon it early last year and it has been a go-to dish of mine ever since. I never follow it to a "T", but I do cut back a bit on the lemon. Otherwise this is a delicious dish to eat alongside just about anything. I make big batches of it and eat it warm or cold and use it for lunches as well.
