Love this idea! When making this for my g/f's and I (who are always on diets, I decided to try skim milk instead of whole, and splenda instead of sugar. Still awesome! I was a little worried about the exchanges but it was still very yummy. Will definitely make this again, maybe add some Kahlua next time. With a little coffee mixed in, who needs Starbucks?

A "Hot Chocolate Bar"? -- LOL
I've got young nieces, a daughter and an assortment other chocolate fiends in the family. What a clever idea for the kids around the holidays!
If I put aside a bottle of Peppermint Schnapps and Kahlua, I've probably got the adults taken care of as well... ;

This is such a great idea. I put together the hot chocolate bar complete with mini marshmallows, Sulpice Chocolat chocolate bars www.sulpicechocolat.com, whipped cream and the cinnamon sugar. It was a huge hit. Thanks for the suggestion.

I don't like american version of hot chocolate which is extremely sweet and tasteless. This recipe is just another version of traditional amercian hot chocolate. I would expect the real hot chocolate recipe from an italian chef which is cioccolata densa.

This is how I'm making hot chocolate from now on. It was lump-free and very smooth. I added about a teaspoon of hot cocoa mix with some coffee flavor, but I left the rest of the recipe alone. My father loved it, and he's not a big hot chocolate person. No more Swiss Miss for us! Thanks Giada! <3

I used soy milk instead of whole milk. I always wondered how to get those lumps out of the hot chocolate. This recipe does it for sure.

I enjoyed the cocoa very much. I did feel that it need to be little sweeter so I added a bit more sugar. I will be making this again for my family.
