Note to those who are politically correct : just letting you know that Israeli couscous is a type of couscous. It's a thicker, pearled version- the box itself should be labeled as "Israeli couscous." When you make this recipe with the thicker Israeli version instead of the coarser Mediterranean couscous it's very tasty. I personally prefer the thicker myself. Great recipe Giada!

I know what you mean, We can't get that other couscous so I am going to try using the far east, and since you add it to boiling liquid i will boil the broth first and use the amount of broth the package calls, since it only sits for 5 mins after that and I'll then follow the rest of the receipe. It sounds good. I love trying new cousous receipes, by itself it is plain dry, but I have kicked it up many ways and love it that way. So here's to a new experience. I know it will be good cause it has good ingredients. Wish me luck!

I haven't made this yet but gave it a five star to offset Mona. Anyway, my question is did anyone make this with "regular" couscous (I have Near East, Original Plain in my pantry? Do you think it would make that much of a difference?

Everyone?please disregard Mona?s ignorant comments. They are disrespectful irrelevant to the dish. The recipe is quite tasty and for those looking for a light side dish it is worth the try. Thanks Giada!

Mona seems to be mad at the world and needs to spend more time learning about foods from other countries.

I bought a bag of Israeli couscous knowing it was different from the couscous I normally get and without knowing anything about how to fix it. Thanksfully I have a BF that is willing to try almost anything, but like most people I only get 1 shot. Thanks to your recipe, I will be buying more Israeli couscous!! We loved this recipe. And since there is only 2 of us, I have plenty to share at work also.

    Thanks Giada!!

i'd been trying to think of what i had on hand to serve with quick week night pork chcops during my commute home and this fit the bill perfectly. The apples and the cranberries accented the bonless pork chops nicely. I only made half the recipe for two of us and there's leftover for at least a couple of lunches. I also threw in some fresh basil I had on hand, used sliced almonds and I did lower the amount of salt per other comments. This, the pork chops and a microwave veggie and I had a 30 minute meal! Terrific!

This recipe is not only incredible, but healthy. Mona ruined the rating of this great dish. The type of couscous is Israeli...that's what to look for when purchasing it....Israeli couscous. Get your facts straight Mona before bashing a good thing and take a spelling lesson!
