I like a lot of Giadas recipes and am always cooking. But when I made these, I found the pizza dough to be too elastic. I had trouble rolling it out, it kept stretching back. They were o.k. when they were still warm, but don't dare try to save them. After they are cool, too hard to bite (my kids even said so, they had trouble biting them I also made the chocolate glaze thats with the recipe, which never set. What a mess.

I made this Sunday night when everyone was craving something sweet. I had recently purchased pizza dough from the grocery store and used that to make the doughnuts. They were so easy to make and everyone loved them. The kids helped me cut them out and put them in a paper bag with powedered sugar and shook them. It was nice to be able to get the kids involved! Thanks Giada!

I saw the show and wanted to make them that same day. It was easy fast and my 7 year old helped me cut and frost them so not only was it good it was fun to make and eat.

I made these for my husband! It was trial and error at first because my thermometer broke so I just had to throw a few pieces of dough in before I got the oil just right. I did the cinnamon and sugar for my doughnut holes and the chocolate glaze for the regular. It's not something I would do on a normal basis but a great recipe to hang on to.

My girls and I tried this recipe, with disappointing results. I adore glazed raised doughnuts, but making the dough from scratch is just a little much for me. I loved the simplicity of the pizza dough idea, but the doughnuts turned out extremely heavy and dense. I did use a frying thermometer, so I know that oil temperature wasn't a factor. They did not puff up nearly as much as Giada's did, and since the dough had very little sweetness of its own, they still tasted salty, even with the sugar, chocolate ganache, or glaze. It is possible that the fresh dough I bought at the grocery store just wasn't quite right. I think I will try again with a different pizza dough, or maybe even Bridgeford bread dough - it might make them lighter in texture. I still love Giada, and appreciate her efforts to bring wonderful Italian-American inspired foods to American tables.

This was a great dessert for my nieces and nephew to make once we finished dinner and with all the varieties of toppings they had a ball.
