I think it's easier to just roll the dough into "holes," a la Dunkin Donuts Munchkins. So good! I made a glaze from confectioner's sugar, a bit of milk and a bit of almond extract. Yum!

This recipe is so simple, delicious and fun! It's quick as the dough I buy only takes 5 minutes to rise and it's economical at only 39 cents a box. It is terrific for kids! Every time my daughter has a sleepover or my nephews spend the night we make doughnuts and the kids love it!!
We have tried variations such as adding a little cocoa powder to the mix for chocolate donuts. I've also added some vanilla and/or almond extract for extra flavor. We melt chocolate chips for dipping and then sprinkle with crushed nuts, cake sprinkles and/or cookie sugars, too. It is a huge hit with the kids and adults both!

I cooked this recipe twice per special request from my family. Chocolate covered is my favorite.

These are delicious and easy. I used a pizza dough mix that I only had to add water to. I'm sure that each time I make these it will be easier and they will be yummier. My kitchen was a mess after I was finished, but it was my first time ever cooking with grease. Next time will be much smoother and cleaner.
