These donuts didn't work for me. I picked up the pizza dough from the local Italian pizza place but they were too chewy....not my idea of a good donut!

I made these but gave them a diffrent twist : I toook 1/2 up of water and a 4th cup og cugar and put them in a hot pan. After the sugar dissolved I added 1/4 a teaspoon of salt. After That I added one stick of butter. I wated until all of the ingrediants were like a sauce. Then I added 1cup of flour. Then the substance turned to a dough. Then I toook 3 eggs and whisked them into the mixture. Then after all the ingrediants were combined.... I added a green apple. I cut the apple intoi LITTLE pieces and combine them with the mixture. Then I fried the mixxture and it was great! I added powdered sugar, and cinamon on top! It was DELISH! I hope you try my recipe!!

I am wondering if not all prepared pizza doughs are not created egual because my doughnuts came out very tough and chewy. They looked good and cooked quickly and it was definitely a easier way to make a raised doughnuts .But they weren't my favorite and I probably won't make them again.

I made these for my Neighbors because we had not really got along well when we first moved in but this was one of the recipes that won them over and my family loved them too. I will definitely make this one for years to come.

OMG! These doughnuts are SO good. So light and fluffy! They're like a lil' taste of Heaven! I made my own pizza dough and added a dash of ground nutmeg. I did the various toppings, like Giada. My hubby and 4 kids absolutely loved them. They haven't asked for store bought doughnuts since. Thank you so much Giada!

I have used this recipe soooo many times!! it is FANTASTIC, you can add your flair or just stick to giada's recipe. If you aren't a good cook, these are a PERFECT dessert to make for a special breakfast, snack, or dessert! WOW they are incredible, try your own mix of oil, and if you are worried about wasting the oil, then when you are cooking the doughnuts, do bunch and keep extras in the freezer! TASTE GOOD AT ANY TEMPERATURE!!!!! YAY GIADA!
