I made it for dessert for our Super Bowl evening, and it will now be our tradional Super Bowl dessert, after the wings and sliders! Giada, you nailed the combination of flavors and textures. So easy, it can be made last minute. We loved it.

With such little effort you get BIG results. This sauce is outstanding. We used chopped candied pecans instead of almonds, which were equally delicious. I didn't have espresso so I brewed strong decaf (served in the evening to kids, which worked just fine. It's very rich. Definitely a hit.

The sauce is rich and silky with hidden undertones of espresso. It firms up slightly once it hits the ice cream which I loved. The whipped cream could be eaten by itself it is that yummy!! What a perfect combination of flavors!
