    I've had this lemonade before at authentic Italian restaurants and at work from our caterers, served at large meetings. I always love it, just a hint of the basil goes really well with lemon.
    I knew 12 lemons was way too much so I only juiced half the recipe. Also half the simple syrup was enough for one pitcher. I used this recipe to make 2 pitchers which was just perfect because the lemonade was gone in a few minutes.
    For the basil if you don't like it, don't add it. I didn't use enough so I just had a hint of the flavor at the end. You really need a large bunch of basil. This is definitely a favorite among all my friends now.

    This is the best Lemonade that I have ever tasted. I made a batch for work last week and everyone thought it was delicious. Today on Monday, July 9, 2007 my friend Cat said that she had been thinking about the Lemonade I had made all weekend. I said I would print her a copy of the recipe so she could make it herself.

    I tried this recipe and it was a little too much for my taste, but when I modified my own recipe with basil leaves in the simple syrup, the flavor was phenomenal. Thank you, Giada!

    I happened to catch this episode awhile ago and I've used this recipe several times since then. What an amazing beverage! The mint really rounds this beverage out, and it goes down smooth on a hot Summer's day.

    The only thing I did differently was that I added more water because it was a bit too concentrated. Once I did that it was perfect!

    If I could give this a 10 I would! It's excellent, you can even spike it up with white rum or vodka, but you and your guests will love this one. Like an Italian soda with the sophisticated hint of basil! WOW!!

    I made this for a dinner party, and everyone loved it. My Dad said it was like an exotic mixed drink. He raved. I never would have believed using fresh basil would make such a difference. You have to try this. If you don't like Lemon don't try it.
