Tasty! It was great. My whole family enjoyed it very much! The only thing that I added to the soup was orzo. The soup was the meal so I wanted to make it more filling. It was easy to make and delicious!!!! I can't wait to make it again! Thanks for another great meal!

    Delicious and fairly quick!
I took mattwalma's suggestion and substituted a half cup of seasoned bread crumbs in place of the slice of bread. I also subbed escarole for the endive, and added a cup or two more broth because I added a half cup of pearl pasta when I put in the meatballs and escarole. I did use the egg/cheese at the end and it turned out wonderful : The only suggestion I have is maybe recruit a second set of hands to roll those tiny meatballs. That took the most time! Thank you Giada and all the reviewers suggestions. This recipe is a keeper!

I cheated and used Italian sausage tortellini, rather than making meatballs. I also added a good handful of Italian parsley to the mix of greens I pulled out of the garden. Otherwise made it exactly as the recipe read. Excellent and super easy!

If you can't say something nice....add lots more spices to every step of this recipe or you will produce a large pot of bland and dull. Basil and oregano and finely diced proscuitto makes the meatballs better. Adding shredded carrots like they did in Italy along with some spices makes the broth very flavorful. In other words, totally change this recipe and it's good. Sad to say, but the Barefoot Contessa's is much better.

I used only lean ground beef for the meatballs, made them a bit smaller and browned them first before putting them in the soup. Next time I will try just cooking them in the broth which might give the broth a bit more flavor.
Soup was delicious, my husband and toddler both enjoyed it. I had some leftovers for lunch the next day and found that it was even tastier the day after- allowing the flavors to really blend (but the greens were not so green any longer
Will be a favorite recipe for sure!

I love this soup! It has so much flavor, I substituted spinach instead of endive and I added pearl pasta instead of the egg, grated in a carrot for more color, it was great! My husband loved it too, defintely a keeper!

This is a great recipe and I will make again. I did use endive AND spinach as the spinach added color. If I did not add this everything would have been the same bland color. I also added pasta to mine to add more then just a broth and meatballs. loved the flavor. Thx Giada

Was in the supermarket and googled a recipe for Italian Wedding Soup. Had almost all of the ingredients. Rainy cold night so I thought it would be perfect and it was! My daughter does not eat beef or pork, so I used 93/7 ground turkey. I would recommend it as an alternative. Used escarole as I find it's a nice "in-between" I feel that spinach is too delicate and kale too tough. Family LOVED it! Can't wait to make it again. Was quick and easy. Do yourself a favor and make it! Enjoy.

I love this recipe. I make soup for my bagel shop/deli. My customers love this soup. It is very authentic. It always sells out. I serve a 12 oz. cup with a mini bagel. It will continue to be a favorite.

Just delicious! I'm getting over the flu and it was JUST what I needed. Wholesome, soothing, light, delicious. There's a lot of love in that pot. This is something I will make again and again. And company-worthy, too! WINNER!
