A couple of thoughts on this recipe. The basic recipe structure is good BUT don't skrimp on the marinara. If you use Ragu it'll taste like Ragu. I can find Rao's at Safeway here - excellent if somewhat pricey. Better yet, make your own. Giada has a good and very easy recipe. Also, if you have bad childhood memories of lamb and mint, try basil. Much better in my opinion.

Five stars for the finished product which received rave reviews from very appreciative hubby.
However, I encountered a problem with the execution of the recipe. When I cooked the lamb until it "has browned and the juices have evaporated," the juices did not evaporate and the fat from the lamb remained in the pan. Since I did not want a greasy sauce, I scooped out some of the grease. Everything else went well, but wondered if anyone else had this problem. Perhaps there is a different kind of ground lamb I should buy.

I have made this twice now for company with rave reviews. Made exactly as written----it feeds an army. I would say the recipe feeds 7-8 hungry adults!

Not that this recipe requires another 5 star rating - but gosh this is good and so very easy. We used local lamb and it was just fantastic. Do NOT leave out the mint - that is what this dish is all about - the combination of the lamb and the mint. This is such a great way to have the fantastic flavour of lamb without breaking the bank.

Excellent alternative to Spaghetti. The lamb and mint are a delicious combination. I used a full cup of mint--what a great recipe!

This is so easy to make and so good that you'll likely want to eat 'way too much. A nice substitute for spaghetti on a chilly comfort-food night.
I will definitely make it again.

Made it exactly like recipe - even the marinara sauce (primo- Loved it. Would probably be just as good with ground beef or turkey. Couldn't really tell that it was lamb. Served it with whole wheat penne - scrumptious.

This recipe was easy to make and tasted fabulous! It will be written in my cookbook as a family favorite. Thanks Giada!
