i found this recipe to be average in taste. i expected a lot more and i recommend using beef instead of lamb.

This was a very tasty, hearty stew. I love lamb, but my guests didn't, so i made it with beef and it turned out just fine. I also served it with roasted garlic mashed potatoes, so i omitted potatoes from the stew (i added baby bella mushrooms instead. Although peeling the cipolline onions was a bit labor intensive, they were sweet and delicious.

A great way to change up the usual beef stew! Full of flavor, and super easy to prepare. The only changes I would suggest are using less potatoes and adding more veggies like carrots and onions. Highly recommended!

After making this stew twice now once with lamb and once with beef I can say that it is the most delicious recipe. It is fast becoming a family favorite.

One tip...boil the onions for only 30 seconds not the full two minutes.

I've never cooked lamb before in my life, but I'm very happy I chose to try it with this recipe. Unbelievably good! My only changes were adding a bay leaf and only using 2 lbs of lamb (you get more stew sauce that way! I will DEFINITELY keep this one up front in the ol' recipe drawer! :?

this makes the lamb even meatier; but i love the taste of lamb and i think it overwhelms the flavor of the meat

I made this yesterday, and my husband and I loved it. I added a dash of hot pepper at the end for a little kick. I will make this again.

Overall a good hearty recipe. I added fresh rosemary & thyme in with the veggies to add a little more depth to the sauce, as well as some mushrooms that we had on hand. The veggies lacked a little in flavor. I probably will put them in earlier next time.
