My daughter loves to watch Everyday Italian! This recipe caught her attention and we had a great time shopping for the ingredients and all of my children helped wash the vegetables, sprinkle flour and the best fun..adding everything to the pan. We substituted angus beef for the lamb, against my husbands wishes, and the meal was a hit. Very quick to prepare and then all you have to do is wait 1.5 hours and you have a great meal.

This is a great and easy recipe. I added some additional spices which gave it a more interesting flavor: fresh rosemary and sage. I also simmered it on a low heat for 2 hours before adding the vegies and the meat was falling apart. Delish!! I served it with a hearty cabernet and it was wonderful...

My wife and I had this the other evening. We used lamb tenderloin instead of the leg of lamb. Also we substituted white beans for the potatoes and threw in a sprig of rosemary from our garden.

It may well have been the best stew we have ever eaten!!!

My guests went back for seconds...well, 2.5 guests did. There really wasn't enough for 5 (they wanted more. It took forever to cut the sinew off. I bought 4.12 lbs of lamb...there was a lot of fat and it still wasn't enough. I wouldn't change a thing.

Everyone loved this one! But because of time restriction, I used my slow cooker. I cut back on the wine (by 1/2 cup and the broth (by half. Everything else was the same - cooked on low for 8 hours and it was a hit!! The next day I added some red pepper flakes to give it a different twist. A definite keeper!

So wonderful to taste. Used Cabernet Sauvignon instead and what a wonderful infusion.

    Thanks

This is a very tasty and easy to make stew. Its also very satisfying. My only concern was the price of lambs leg (it was pretty expensive, at least in my area. For that reason, I might not make it every week, but I'll certainly pull this one out the next time I want to impress at a pot luck.

This was awesome...only thing I subsitiuted was the lamb. We are not big lamb eaters, so I used stew beef instead. This definitely made an awesome meal served with layered biscuts. Definitely want to do this on a day though when you are off from work.
