These are truly delightful and easy to make. I did add about 1/2 tbsp more sugar( my husband's family likes things on the sweet side and an egg white as suggested. Why fight the crumbling when adding an egg white does the trick. Taking to family for the holiday. Nice job, Giada.

These were SO wonderful!! I made them for a tea party style baby shower and they were perfect. Everyone loved them! I agree that they are crumbly but if you are careful when you transfer them they stay together fine. because of the crumbly factor, I stacked them on a platter the way they are pictured with the recipe and decorated it with a few lavender sprigs and lemon slices. I didn't get as many cookies as the recipe says it will make, so I'm glad I doubled it. It might be because I made them slightly bigger than suggested. I really can't say enough how much I love these cookies!

I just made these. I really enjoyed them. They do soften up a little, but I definitely will make again. As my husband said,"these are girly cookies, but he's willing to give them a try. I followed Giada's recipe exactly and they look exactly like the ones in the photo. I think these would make a nice gift for someone.

Nice when you first take them out of the oven. A few hours later they were all soft, like they were stale. Really odd, they should harden up, not fall apart & turn to mush. When I first tried one out of the oven it had a very subtle lavender & lemon flavor. It was very crumbly & could do with being a touch sweeter, maybe another tablespoon of sugar. And the recipe only made 15 one-inch balls, so I'm not sure where the 20-odd came from!

This is a lovely cookie. Almost reminds me of shortbread. It's not supposed to be too sweet or lemony, and if you leave them alone the way the recipe states, they will not fall apart. I can see these as a perfect "tea party" cookie.

Good, but not spectacular. In terms of other reviewer's comments about them crumbling straight out of the oven, if you wait, yes hard to do with smell of cookies in your house but the recipe says wait, let them cool and they will not crumble. Personally, I would like more lemon flavour in these cookies, they are missing that kick. Oh, well...
