These are definitely not lemon cookies in the traditional sense, but they are fairly good in their own right. As other reviewers have mentioned, they are essentially mini cakes in the shape of cookies. The lemon flavor is VERY faint, even after adding an extra half-lemon's worth of zest to both the "cookie" and the glaze. If i made them again, I would definitely increase the zest further to a minimum of two lemons' worth in both the cookie and the glaze. Overall, they were fine, but not at all what the name connotes. More like yellow cake with a hint of lemon.

I just made these for a back to school Teacher Appreciation Lunch and they were a huge hit. Had several teachers contact me for the recipe. It was an Italian- themed luncheon so I embellished each with a few leaves of thyme from my garden and that added a nice pop of color. I was worried, having never made these before, that they would be too muffin-like given the consistency of the batter. They were light and delicious. And don't listen to the nay sayers about the glaze! It's fabulous. Messy to make but easy and worth it!

Fab-u-lous!!! I was looking for a way to use extra ricotta. I posted something on my fb page and received a bunch of responses. This recipe was one of them. So glad I tried it! Super easy. The icing definitely tops it off for me. Just the right amount of sweetness. Luckily, I was going to a BBQ that day so I took most of the cookies with me. They disappeared! This will definitely be on the fav recipe list. Next time, I'll try to make them a little smaller. Thanks Giada!

In one word, these cookies are "DELICIOUS". I made believers out of my co-workers that Yes you can bake sweet treats with ricotta and it tastes simply divine. This is definitely a keeper.

I made these for a summer bridal shower and they were an absolute hit. They are sweet and lemony and very pretty when plated. Several guests requested the recipe and the health-concious ladies were delighted to hear that the recipe calls for fresh squeezed lemon juice and ricotta.
Hint: I had to increase the baking time so the edges would get golden--they will cook through, it may just take longer depending on your oven. Be patient, they are worth it. Thank you Giada!
