I really liked the cookies they where very moist and good, but the icing tasted very generic to me not sure how to explain it. I like the other reviewers tips to use store bought icing. I will try that next time.

I agree that without the icing there is not much lemon flavor but that is the point of the icing. Also I put the left over cookies in a bowl and covered them with a dish cloth. This allowed them to remain good for several days.

i'm not a big sweets person, but i can't stop eating these cookies and neither can my roommates. personally, it's the lemon icing that makes the cookie. the light and moist cookie itself is a great compliment to it.

I loved the ease of making these cookies. I appreciated the fact that I could leave them on the cookie sheet to cool. That saved steps and crumbs all over the counter. They have an excellent lemony flavor and are rich and satisfying. I needed smaller cookies, about two inches in diameter, and the recipe made 65, plus there was plenty of glaze for each one.

..than a cookie. Excellent flavor, especially with the glaze, but spongy like a madeline.
Still, they are delicious and I will make them again.

I saw Giada make these cookies. I love lemon and thought these would be great to make for friends and family. I made my first batch and didnt realize how much they spread out and how cake like they are. Then I tried making them as small as half dollars. Still cake like and they didnt look like Giada's at all. Im not sure Ill waste my time making these. I read the previous reviews and the tips helped, but not enough. I usually always have good luck with her recipes.. this is the first..

A wonderful cookie that is often requested. One way to jazz it up is to sprinkle the freshly iced cookies with nonpareils. I buy different ones as the seasons change and it's a terrific presentation without altering the taste.

These are without a doubt THE BEST cookies I have ever made. My grandsons go to a catholic school and they had a bake sale so I made these and put them in a clear gift bag, 1 in each bag, tied a pretty ribbon around them and it was the favorite cookie at the bake sale. They are so light and fresh I could eat them all....
