    It was nice to know that Giada uses the olive oil in the end. The elders in my family always did that. I think this soup needs more stock though. The lentils soaked up most if not all of the broth. I also used red pepper flakes. Good Job Giada!

    I loved it - very flavorful and easy to make. I also added the red pepper flakes and bay leaf others suggested, and it was a little low on liquid by the time it was done, but that is easy to fix!

    My first try at making lentil soup. It was so good that the 2nd time I added sausage (Italian-sweet and the 3rd I made it with pancetta. Wow!
