I thought the dish was too bland. It looks good but lacked any interesting taste.

I made this for my family last night and it was so light and fresh. It would be good hot or cold... My husband is in the service, and we had lived in Italy for 4 years and this dish is something you would get over there... fantastic! -Bobbie Jo

Freshness is the key here..I see alot of reviews from people who don't like the fresh mozzarella. Try it with shaved fresh parmesan and see what you think. You have to use good ripe romas or tomatoes on the vine, make sure the pulp and seeds are out and don't let them sit over the heat. I've served this before as an side with chicken on the grill marinated in italian marinade and it's awesome!

I wasn't very impressed with this dish... the tomatoes became so mushy and the basil was rather chewy. Great idea and pretty good taste I personally just didn't like the texture.

i just saw this recipe on the show this afternoon, and since im trying to eat heathly, i gave it a try...going exactly with what Giada said to use...its pretty good...fresh flavor with the tomatoes and fresh basil...i crushed the garlic, to give it an extra garlicky kick...pretty good!..very very easy to make and the ingredients are reasonable to buy...could be a keeper!

Hey Giada! I love your show!!! You're so cute how you've blossomed in front of the camera; you've gotten over your shyness, I think ;-!!! I really enjoyed the "Chefography" episode about you! I LOVE your personal, style; classy but sensual!!!
I am watching your "Cooking for Kids", and you said, "I'm not sure where this word comes from ("Sciue Sciue", and I immediately had to get online and let you know that this is an Arabic word!!! "Shwayeh Shwayeh" means, "a little bit"!!! Just goes to show how much exchange there is between the two cultures in the South!!!
Keep up the good work!
Love...Katya

Loved the ease and the taste but I didn't use fresh mozarella and I think I stired too much. The cheese melted and made a clumpy mess but it tasted wonderful and smelled great.
Next time, that there will be a next time, I will either use fresh mozz or will cut cheese smaller or stir less.
This is the kind of recipe you can really build on - I'm going to try adding meat, other fresh veggies (peas, grated carrots, etc., or adding more spices.
All in all it's a wonderful recipe. I just wish there was a warning about the possible cheese globs.

This is outstanding!! I didn't think a recipe with so few ingredients could be so delicious. I made this based upon the reviews and agree! It goes together very quickly but the combination of flavors is terrific and the versatility is great. I love Giada's receipes!! Will make again and again!!

I always have different pastas, cheeses, tomato, garlic and olive oils on hand, plus my basil plant, so was thrilled to find another simple dish I could make with everything I already have. It was on TV when I got home from work and within 15 minutes I had it in a serving dish, ready to eat. We loved it, especially the cheesy clumps that formed as the mozzarella melted. Every bite offered a little treat. We will definitely make it again and again.
