This mac and cheese was absolutely awesome and oh, so easy! The reviewers who stated the sauce was too runny must not have let it sit for the 10 minutes as stated in the directions; right out of the oven it's super runny, but after sitting it was PERFECTION!!

Great Mac n cheese recipe! Will try adding smoked gouda for extra flavor. I left it in a little longer than called for to dry it out. The whole family loved it!

Fabulous! I did think it was runny like the some of the other reviews, but the taste was so fantastic that I really didn't notice. I served french bread and a salad with it and was able to use the bread to sop up the cheese sauce. I loved the fact that it used white cheese instead of yellow, gave it a mellow and smooth taste without as much grease. Thanks Giada!

Wow. I've made a lot of different mac and cheese recipes and I think this 'wins' for 'best mac and cheese I've ever had'. It DID feel like a sinfully guilty pleasure though because of the CALORIES in it alone (I calculated 1600 calories just from the heavy cream!!! But I just ate it with a good measure of portion control. This macoroni was luscious and that cheesy fontina cheese crust and the bits of ham in it made it a pure delight! This is definitely a keeper and not your typical mac and cheese recipe but it totally works!!

This is a totally stupid recipe! Unfortunately, the chef really doesn't know how to cook. What you end up with is a mess: melted cheese, milk and cream, and noodles. Raw flour? Come on! This might be rescued if you made a cheese sauce instead of just tossing everything together in a bowl. Adding more flour does not make it thicken. I made only a half recipe, which reduced how much waste there is of good cheese. Don't waste your time on this.

This really is one of the best mac & cheese recipes I've ever eaten. I used a really good Italian Fontina. The only problem is getting the sauce thick enough. The first time I took the suggestion to use tablespoons where teaspoons are specified for the flour. It still was too runny for my taste. Tonight will be my second run at it and I'll increase the flour. No matter what, I know it will taste great.

I give this 10 stars !! This was so good. I did saute a small onion and added it when I added the cheese into the liquids. I will be making this again for sure, It was a big hit !

It's great but I can only imagine the amount of calories in just one serving!
